REVIEW: Life of Love by Callers

Hailing from Brooklyn, Callers retain all of their NYC cool and yet eschew all of the punk rock posing that so many other of their peers seem to excel at. Callers sound like a fogged-out Velvet Underground playing the greatest hits of Low. Lead singer Sara Lucas is a genuine 21st Century chanteuse whose deft way with a melody expertly weaves in and out of the jazz-tinged music supplied by her fellow band members. This band is not afraid to create their own musical universe and this release is more than capable of allowing you to exist within it.
